Background
KOLORO started as a design agency for creating vodka labels. More than 10 of our first projects were alcoholic. Then we expanded our line of work and started doing 3D modelling of bottle geometry.
A few years later, the first direction grew into a branding agency with an extensive range of services: from naming to promotion strategy.
The second one gave birth to KLONA, an industrial design studio. Apart from 3D-modelling, visualisation and printing, KLONA specialises in serial production of plastic products.

KINESKO is something between KOLORO and KLONA. The company deals with motion design. We decided to open this direction in 2015, and launched the first trial website in December. It was a response to the clients’ requests.
Having co-operated with KOLORO in the field of branding and being satisfied with the quality, they were also interested in advertising services, namely animated commercials. KLONA also received requests for 3D modelling of characters for companies and games.
Financial expectations
In terms of the business plan, we decided to take a risk with the direction because we knew that there is relatively little competition in Motion Design. There are big companies whose costs are very high. We wanted to start with a smaller one.
Since the applications were coming in even without a separate website and manager, we decided it was time to be proactive. We developed a new brand within the holding company, created a name, thought about positioning and identity.
Judging by the dynamics of the site development (number of visits, depth of browsing, number of queries), our expectations are justified and the site will quickly move from self-sustainability to a profit-making project.

Site prototyping
To prototype the site, we used Axure RP, a software that is suitable for prototyping websites and applications. It took about 10 edits before we were able to approve the prototype and move on to the next stage. However, we’re glad we fixed everything in the prototyping phase, as making edits to the code, is the wrong approach. It takes more time, and each edit in the code can affect the rest of the code.

Transfer of corporate identity to prototype and website layout
We made KINESKO corporate style ourselves, based on warm yellow colour combined with black and diamond shapes. There are a lot of animations of different complexity on the site, as it is one of the key services of KINESKO. We used vector graphics, the quality of which is not spoilt when pages are scaled.
We simplified the appearance of the site for the mobile version. Video clip and button animations were removed from it, as it increases loading time.

Back-end is written on the open-source Laravel framework. It is popular among developers and is used for corporate needs.
The main task was to develop the design and user interface of 12 template pages. It was devised by a team, with a web designer, an internet marketer and a project manager involved in the process. The main task was to make the user understand what we do and how we can be useful to him, as well as to quickly direct him to the right section.

The previous version of KINESKO was not fully populated. The blog will be updated with new materials as long as the site will exist. Also now we are working on texts about the company and layout of our first projects for the portfolio. All texts on the site contain keywords from the main core you read about above.

The updated site increased traffic, session duration, and depth of browsing. We reduced the bounce rate and significantly decreased the loading speed.
